Canterbury’s Pritchard, Jupiter’s Douglass Among 5 Flagler Co-Captains for 2023

Duncan announces 2023 team captains

ST. AUGUSTINE – Head Coach Brian Duncan and his staff have selected Thomas Prichard, Paxton CrowellAntanas MikuzisBlake Gonzalez and Tyler Douglass as team captains for the 2023 season.
 
“The leadership in 2023 will help this team grow and be ready to compete with the teams on our schedule,” said head coach Brian Duncan. “These guys have made this a player’s led team. We believe this is really important for success on and off the field while accomplishing our goals in the classroom. The staff is excited to watch this team compete.”
 
A Fort Meyers, Florida, native Pritchard appeared in 16 games and ranked fifth on the team with 29 points (22g, 7a) in Flagler’s inaugural season. The senior transfer from Saint Leo University earned All-Peach Belt Conference First Team honors. Pritchard was named to the USILA D2 Team of the Week (April 18) after he netted five goals against Lander. The attacker also scooped up 23 ground balls and caused six turnovers.
 
Crowell, a native of Colorado Springs, Colorado, started in all 17 games as a defender for the Saints. The sophomore ranked fourth on the team with 10 caused turnovers and picked up 22 ground balls. Crowell tallied a career-high four ground balls against Davenport University (March 1) and scored his first collegiate goal against Saint Leo (March 12). He earned academic all-conference honors and was a PBC Presidential Honor Roll Bronze Scholar.
 
Mikuzis, a native of Western Springs, Illinois, looks forward to his first year with the Saints after transferring from Canisius College. The redshirt sophomore earned a spot on the 2022 MAAC All-Academic Team. The attacker was a four-year letterwinner at the Nazareth Academy and twice earned all-conference honors.
 
A native of Bel Air, Maryland, Gonzalez is also a first-year member of the team for the Saints, transferring from Saint Joseph’s University. The sophomore defender was named to the 2021 Northeast Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll. Gonzalez was a three-year varsity letterwinner at the Boys Latin School of Maryland.
 
Douglass, a native of Jupiter, Florida, appeared in all 17 games for the Saints and ranked fourth on the team with 33 points (25g, 8a). The midfielder’s 25 goals ranked third on the team while his 27 ground balls stood fifth. Douglass was named to the 2022 PBC All-Tournament team after he recorded a hat trick in the semifinals against the University of Alabama in Huntsville (May 5).
 
The men’s lacrosse team’s second season kicks off on Feb. 1 against Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University on the Flagler Lacrosse Field at 7 p.m.
