2023 Embry-Riddle Women’s Lacrosse Schedule

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Embry-Riddle women’s lacrosse head coach Caitlin Villareal Kenahan released her first scheduled since taking over the program in September. The Eagles are hoping to build on what was the program’s most successful season in 2022.

Last year, Embry-Riddle achieved its most overall and conference wins in a single season, earning a 13-4 mark on the year and a 3-4 record in Sunshine State Conference action. The Blue and Gold began the 2022 campaign with 11 consecutive victories, four of which were against ranked competition, to launch all the way up to No. 11 in the national poll. Additionally, the Eagles also downed No. 9 Florida Southern later in the season, the highest ranked opponent Embry-Riddle has ever defeated.

Seven starters return for Embry-Riddle. Almost the entire attack line is back for another season including 2022 leading scorer Sallie Squire. The sophomore registered 60 goals and four assists in addition to 37 ground balls, 23 caused turnovers and 55 draw controls.

This year, the Eagles have 17 opponents on the slate with 10 contests at home and seven on the road. Embry-Riddle launches into the new season with a meeting with rival Flagler on Feb. 11. The Eagles defeated the Saints 20-10 last year.

The following weekend, Embry-Riddle travels to Young Harris on Feb. 20 hoping to increase its all-time series win streak to three after winning the previous two by a combined score of 47-16.

The Eagles then begin a five-game homestand with Gannon on Feb. 28. It’s the first ever meeting between the two programs.

Davenport returns to Daytona Beach on March 3 for the first time since Embry-Riddle’s inaugural season in 2018. Embry-Riddle then hosts Mount Olive four days later on March 7. The two squads’ first meeting occurred last season, a 14-12 victory for the Blue and Gold.

Lee also returns to the Eagles’ schedule on March 10 after first appearing in 2022. Embry-Riddle claimed that meeting 10-8.

Traveling from Philadelphia, Holy Family will escape the northern cold to face the Eagles for the first time ever on March 12 and end the homestand.

Embry-Riddle then makes the journey to Greenwood, South Carolina, to take on Lander. The Eagles dominated the Bearcats 22-1 in 2020. A meeting at Belmont Abbey follows on March 18.

Non-conference play concludes with a matchup at home against Montevallo on March 29. Embry-Riddle won both prior meetings by a combined score of 42-16.

SSC action begins with a bout with Florida Tech on April 1. The Eagles won the last two meetings with the Panthers.

Next, Embry-Riddle travels down Interstate 4 to face Rollins on April 5 before hosting Lynn (April 8) and Palm Beach Atlantic (April 12).  The Eagles have yet to drop a meeting with the Sailfish.

Embry-Riddle’s biggest upset last season was a 15-7 thumping of No. 9 Florida Southern. The two programs will take to the field again in Lakeland on April 15.

Tampa will serve as the Eagles’ opponent for their final home game of the season on April 19 with the regular-season finale occurring shortly after at Saint Leo on April 22.

The top four teams in the SSC standings will then fight for the conference tournament crown. Semifinal matches are slated for April 27 with the championship game on April 30.

All home games and all road SSC contests can be viewed on the Sunshine State Conference Digital Network.
