Congratulations to Chloe on her college commitment and good luck in the future!   Name Chloe Provenzano High School American Heritage Boca Delray Graduation Year 2020 College Choice Harvard Club Affiliations Florida Select     Why did you choose this college? Harvard is consistently ranked among the best universities in the world. I believe Harvard’s academics and athletics will challenge me and enable me to achieve my personal best. Coach Devon Wills, a legendary goalie in women’s lacrosse, asked me to be her first commitment which is a dream come true. My goal is to help Harvard win an Ivy League Championship and a return to the NCAA’s. What are your first memories of the sport? When I first started playing club lacrosse, I played attack and was the worst player on the team. During a tournament in Orlando, our goalie was a no show. Coach John asked if anyone wanted to play goalie. I volunteered, not realizing that decision would change the course of my life! What part of the process was most surprising to you about the recruiting process and what would you like to pass on to those who are going to face it in the future? With the new recruiting rule in place, I had no idea what to expect and was surprised at how many coaches texted and emailed me right at 12:01 am. It was exciting and overwhelming at the same time. The best advice I could give about the recruiting process is to focus on improving yourself as a player and less on the recruiting process itself. I realized I can control my future through hard work and making myself the best goalie possible. Coaches will take notice, and opportunities will come from that. Who would you like to thank for helping you get here? There are so many people to thank. I would like to start with my Florida Select teammates and coaches. We have played together for so many years and have pushed each other to become one of the elite travel teams in the country. The coaches at Florida Select are tremendous and have done everything possible for me to reach my lacrosse dreams. Coach John McClain believed in me and stood by me during the good and bad times. A special thank you has to go to Coach Shawn Riegner, my goalie coach. Shawn spent countless hours working with me outside of practice, not only to make me a great goalie, but also because he cares about me as a person. I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Shawn! Saving the best and most important thank you for the end…my dad! He said to me, “If you are all in, I’m all in!” Without his support and devotion, there is no way this could be possible. I have two words for my dad…Manatee and Marshmallow!
