Congratulations to AJ on his college choice and good luck in the future!   Name AJ Levitt High School The Benjamin School Graduation Year 2020 College Choice Rollins College Club Affiliations Team 91 FL Why did you choose this college? I chose Rollins College because It is the overall best fit for me. The prestigious 5 year MBA Program, the beautiful campus, and excellent coaching staff were very hard to pass on. What are your first memories of the sport? I am originally from Maryland, and I started playing lacrosse when I was seven years old. I will never forget the first stick I ever had: a hot pink AV8 head with an STX Amp shaft. To this day, I still have that stick and remember using it in the LTRC youth league. My two best friends growing up were twins and my favorite memory would be playing in the same starting attack lineup with them during a season of middle school travel lacrosse. What part of the process was most surprising to you about the recruiting process and what would you like to pass on to those who are going to face it in the future? What surprised me most was how quickly my priorities changed as I learned more about the college process. I began the recruiting process freshman year by traveling to showcases and e-mailing college coaches to invite them to watch me play. I did not consider where a school was, what majors the school offered, or even its size. I cared most about which school was best at lacrosse. My advice to those who are in the recruiting process is to choose a school that you would be happy at if you did not play lacrosse. Who would you like to thank for helping you get here? First off, I would like to thank my Mom and Dad for always traveling to tournaments with me and always supporting me. Secondly, I would like to thank my teammates; without them, I would not be the player I am today or have made memories of a lifetime on the field. I would like to thank my coaches — Peter Cordrey, Darren Lowe, Shane Rye, Stan Ross, and Nick O’Hara for their support and guidance throughout the recruiting process.
