Breaking: Caitlyn Wurzburger Decommits From Syracuse

Written by Lee Roggenburg on . Posted in , , , .
Multiple Sources have indicated to FLN that Caitlyn Wurzburger, IL’s #1 Girls lacrosse player in America last season, has decommitted from Syracuse and is re-opening her recruiting process. This is interesting given that when Caitlyn committed as an 8th grader it was national news in the lacrosse world due to her being the youngest player ever to commit to a college program. Most of the time a decision like this would not be big news but given that Caitlyn is such a high profile player and the historical nature of her original commitment was such big news this decision certainly warrants the coverage.  One could say her commitment set in motion a number of the new rules for recruiting we are now living under. Caitlyn’s statistics for her high school career are off the charts.  She is the only high school player to register over 100 goals and 100 assists in a season and has done that three times. We reached out to her high school coaching staff for comment but did not hear back. We’ll continue to follow as details emerge.
