District Brackets – Class 1A – Region 4

Last to be reviewed but certainly not the least as this Region is filled with top programs.  That’s the good news.  The bad news is that this Region was hammered by Covid suspensions during the year and the effect of WHEN they occurred is yet to be seen. Six of the top 12 in my last 1A poll are in this Region (on MaxPreps the Region has #1, #3, #4 and #6 in 1A) and 3 are in District 13 and that doesn’t count King’s Academy, which was Top 15 but was hammered with injuries.  Belen Jesuit is undefeated but had the curse of being in Dade County, which limited some better programs from scheduling them due to County regulations.  Pine Crest started fast and continued all season.  Gulliver faces a challenge too; they also normally played a statewide schedule but had the same issue as Belen. All in all it will be highly entertaining in this Region! In District 13 it looked like smooth sailing early for Saint Andrew’s.  Undefeated against a solid schedule and plenty left to play.  But because of the normal Spring Break scheduling and Covid late, they have played exactly ONE GAME since March 18th, and lost games with Jupiter, Benjamin and SJP!  Meanwhile, Saint John Paul has really come on late in the season and that potential matchup (SJP needs to get past Oxbridge first) is one I am itching to see happen.  That game was postponed during SJP’s early season Covid suspension and not rescheduled so there’s no track record for THIS YEAR. It’s been a long time since SJP took a victory over their rival and it would be a massive moment if it happens again.  SA’s defense is deep and skilled and SJP has lots of offense; this is a matchup worthy of attending, as will be the semifinal game between SJP & Oxbridge if the Thunderwolves get healthy. In District 14 it looked like Pine Crest would be the easy favorite to get through and that might be still the case but American Heritage-Plantation has slowly built a nice defense behind a top goaltender and that gives them a chance at the upset, but I still see Pine Crest going through. You can put it into ink that Belen Jesuit is coming out of District 15 as they hammered all their District competition this year. In District 16 you have the likely matchup in the final of #1 Gulliver Prep and #2 Westminster Christian and they played a 2-goal game in the regular season.  Gulliver did not end the season impressively and WC did so the gap is really not there, and this could be a barn-burner.  Gulliver at home might make the difference. Either way we will likely have a great playoff bracket this year in this region! <2021 Boys Lacrosse District Championship Tournaments 1A District 13 > <2021 Boys Lacrosse District Championship Tournaments 1A District 14 > <2021 Boys Lacrosse District Championship Tournaments 1A District 15 > <2021 Boys Lacrosse District Championship Tournaments 1A District 16 >
