Congratulations to Wilson on his college choice and good luck in the future!   Name Wilson Perez-Vasquez High School Immokalee High Graduation Year 2020 College Choice Wheeling University Club Affiliations Immokalee Venom Why did you choose this college? The reason why I chose this Wheeling was that the coaching staff made the campus feel like home. I felt very comfortable being away from Immokalee and that is because of the atmosphere the staff has created. What are your first memories of the sport? The first memory of lacrosse I have was in the first game I played coming up with a big hit that caused a turnover giving us possession of the ball. In that game, I was also able to yard sale an opponent’s stick and I was hooked. What part of the process was most surprising to you about the recruiting process and what would you like to pass on to those who are going to face it in the future? The most surprising part of the recruitment is the college options out there and how many are willing to take the time to look at you. From there it’s seeing where you see yourself and figuring out which schools have the major you want to study. Something I’ll like to pass down to those in the future is just to be sure you are comfortable with the college and atmosphere of it. You don’t want to regret the choice you made. Who would you like to thank for helping you get here? I would like to thank first of all Coach Rickard and Coach Simmons for helping me out the last three years I’ve been a part of the lacrosse team. I’d also like to thank Coach Carlos and former Immokalee lacrosse player and now coach Ricky Loredo for giving me tips and advice along the way. After games, they point out what I did well and what I could have done better so that I could correct my mistakes.
