JU Men’s Lacrosse Announces 2019 Schedule

  via JU press release   JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Continuing the trend of facing some of the nation’s toughest opponents, including the 2018 NCAA National Runners-Up, Jacksonville University men’s lacrosse released its 2019 schedule Wednesday afternoon. A slew of fall contests prepare the Dolphins for the spring, as Jacksonville takes on its Alumni during Homecoming Weekend on Oct. 12. The following weekend, the Dolphins host the Florida Lacrosse Showcase and welcome a pair of Division II team – Rollins and Lynn – on Oct. 20. Jacksonville then wraps up its fall schedule with the Northeast Florida lacrosse community’s favorite event, the World’s Largest Outdoor Lacrosse Party, on Oct. 26. A charity exhibition game featuring some of the brightest stars in Major League Lacrosse, all proceeds benefit Nemours Children’s Specialty Care here in Jacksonville. Fresh off winter break, the Dolphins welcome four teams over two weekends of exhibition games in preparation for the 2019 season. North Carolina and Florida Tech visit D.B. Milne Field on Jan. 19, while Tampa and Embry-Riddle make the trip up I-95 the following Friday on Feb. 25. Jacksonville heads north to open the 2019 season on Feb. 2 at Detroit Mercy before returning to Duval for four straight games. The Dolphins welcome 2018 NCAA Runners-Up Duke on Feb. 9, while Marquette (Feb. 15) and Drexel (Mar. 2) close out the home stand. The 2019 Moe’s Lacrosse Classic will feature Michigan on Feb. 24; game time and television coverage are yet to be determined. A weekend road trip to Charlotte, N.C. is next on the docket as the Dolphins face Towson and Penn State on March 8 and 10, respectively, before heading to Louisville to open the Southern Conference slate at Bellarmine on March 16. Fans will get to see a rematch of last year’s exciting SoCon semifinal as High Point heads to town on March 23. The Dolphins then take to the skies for a meeting with Air Force (Mar. 31) in Colorado to close out the month. A home-and-home series with the SoCon’s Virginia schools rings in the final month of regular season action, as the Dolphins look to avenge last season’s SoCon Tournament final on home turf against Richmond (Apr. 6) before heading back on the road to VMI (Apr. 13). Closing out its home slate, Jacksonville welcomes Furman on April 20 then heads north to Mercer for the regular season finale on April 27.
