Lynn: Women’s Lacrosse Adds Six New Pieces to Inaugural Class!

  via Lynn press release   BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn University women’s lacrosse head coach Mindy Richmond announced the signing of six more players for the 2020 inaugural squad. Evan Maupin, Delaney Gould, Corrin Reaves, Ginger Stein, Isabella Clark and Marissa Boccarossa make up the second wave of incoming women’s lacrosse recruits. Evan Maupin Freshman | Midfield Waunakee, Wis. | Waunakee Community HS A two-time captain and four-year varsity starter for the Warriors, Maupin earned Conference Player of the Year accolades in 2018. She was a First Team All-Conference selection as a sophomore and junior. Evan led her team to a conference championship and a state semifinal run in 2018. She was also a three-year varsity gymnast and was a member of the varsity snowboarding team. From the Coach: “Evan brings a tough mentality and incredible athleticism to our young team. She is physical, aggressive and a true competitor. She has a tenacious, never-give-up attitude that will make her an immediate role model on the field.” Delaney Gould Freshman | Defense Ocean City, N.J. | Ocean City HS As a two-year varsity starter, Gould helped lead Ocean City to back-to-back Cape-Atlantic League Championships with a trip to the South Jersey finals last spring. She was also a four-year varsity track sprinter. From the Coach: “Delaney is expected to play a significant role for the Fighting Knights defense. She has great speed and footwork and is confident with the ball in transition. She is an aggressive hustler who knows how to make and maintain contact with her mark. Her positive personality and strong work ethic will help to bring cohesiveness to the team.” Corrin Reaves Freshman | Attack Austin, Tex. | Lake Travis HS As a five-year varsity player for the Cavaliers, Reaves earned Central Texas All-District honors in 2018 after helping her team to the Texas State Playoffs in 2017 & 2018. From the Coach: “Corrin is a team-first kind of player who has a very strong work ethic. She has an incredibly quick first step and shows great agility. She has only begun to tap her potential and will progress quickly at the next level.” Ginger Stein Freshman | Defense Wellington, Fla. | Palm Beach Central HS Ginger is a three-year varsity starter and two-time captain for the Broncos. Ginger was chosen as the Broncos Defender of the Year in 2018 after being awarded Rookie of the Year as a freshman. She also received the Captain’s Choice Award and the Bronco Award. From the Coach: “Ginger is a very strong and naturally gifted athlete. She plays her angles well and uses her strength to hold her ground defensively. Ginger is the type of player who will advance quickly as she transitions into a more competitive environment. She is a tough competitor with a ton of growth potential.” Isabella “Isa” Clark Freshman | Attack Pleasanton, Calif. | Amador Valley HS As a four-year varsity player, Clark has been selected to captain the Dons for the 2019 season. She was tabbed as Most Improved Player for Amador Valley lacrosse in 2017. Isa also shines on the basketball court. From the Coach: “Isa is a natural attacker who will also be able to bring some depth to our midfield. She has a great eye for the cage and a very hard and accurate shot. She brings offensive versatility in her ability to dish as well as finish. She is relentless in the ride and has excellent stick protection.” Marissa Boccarossa Freshman | Goalie Bradenton, Fla. | Lakewood Ranch HS A two-year starter for the Mustangs, Marissa achieved the highest save percentage in District 10. She was named Sarasota Herald-Tribune Top Player of the Game Award on Feb. 20, 2018 after making 16 saves against Riverview. From the Coach: “Marissa is as determined as they come. She has an intense desire to compete at the next level and is willing to do the work. Where she lacks in experience, she makes up for with heart and hard work. She is tough and willing to take bruises for her team.”
