New Program Sarasota High Names New Coaches for the Boys’ and Girls’ Teams!

via press release   Good Morning SHS Lacrosse Family We are please to announce your boys and girls head coaches for our SHS lacrosse program. Please help us welcome Heather Chase O’Neill as our Girl’s Head Coach and Christian Dombovari as our Boy’s Head Coach. Heather, a former Division I All-American at Syracuse University, has been coaching youth sports for many years including soccer, basketball, field hockey, and lacrosse. Most recently she helped establish the Riverview High School Girl’s Lacrosse Team as the assistant varsity coach in the newly sanctioned sport. While managing her duties at Riverview, Heather created Ripcurl Lacrosse. Ripcurl is a non-travel and travel youth lacrosse program offering training in the fall/spring/summer seasons and is dedicated to providing a supportive platform for girls to grow and flourish athletically. Committed to the concept of the student athlete, she is additionally a 3rd/4th Grade Teacher at Community Day School. In 2014, Heather cofounded The Casey Powell World Lacrosse Foundation (CPWLF) that creates opportunities for severely injured and sick lacrosse players. She recently stepped down as the Executive Director of the CPWLF and is extremely proud of the individuals, families, coaches, and teams that worked together bringing player’s and their family’s difficult situations to light. During the summer, when not found on a lacrosse field, she is the Director of the Junior Sailing Program for the Northern Lake George Yacht Club in upstate New York. Heather lives in Sarasota with her daughter Emily (14) who is an aerialist with the Sarasota Sailor Circus and her son Conor (17) who attends and plays lacrosse for Salisbury School in Connecticut. Christian has been coaching lacrosse for 10 years with various lacrosse clubs in the community. He was most recently the Assistant Coach for the Riverview High School Varsity boy’s team and previously the Assistant Coach for the Sarasota Military Academy’s boy’s team. Christian was also selected to Coach the Florida (2026) team in 2018 at the Warrior All-American Games in Boston, Massachusetts. He has lived in Sarasota for 26 years and attended Booker High School. Christian played hockey, soccer and football as a kid and he wishes lacrosse would have been around when he was growing up. “I am very honored and excited to be the coach for SHS and look forward to building a successful program that continues the long-standing tradition of sailor pride here at the school.”
