PBA Men: Men’s Lacrosse Suffers Setback At #20 Wingate

WINGATE, N.C. – Palm Beach Atlantic men’s lacrosse got their Spring Break Trip off to a rough start on Saturday, falling to No. 20 Wingate 17-3. The ‘Fish will play two more games in North Carolina before returning home.

Wingate (3-1) got off to a fast start and never looked back as the Bulldogs scored their first goal in the first minute. After another Wingate goal, Austin Figas scored his second of the season to bring the margin to one. From there the Bulldogs scored seven straight to take a 9-1 lead into the first minute of the second half.

Logan Robbins scored his second goal of the season for the ‘Fish in the third quarter and Blake Israel added his eighth of the year in the final period. PBA was able to take 32 shots in the game but the Bulldogs fired off 53 including 30 in the first half.

Ben Savick was under fire all game long, facing 29 shots and making 12 saves. He also led the team with 13 ground balls.

The Sailfish return to action on Monday as they travel to Wilson, N.C. to take on Barton College at 1 p.m.
