PBA Men: Sailfish Pick Up First SSC Win – 11-5 Over Embry-Riddle

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic men’s lacrosse picked up their first Sunshine State Conference win, defeating Embry-Riddle 11-5 on Saturday afternoon.

The Sailfish (4-6, 1-0 SSC) scored the first six goals – including a first half hat trick by Jackson Miller – and led 7-2 at halftime and never looked back. PBA outshot the Eagles 43-27 led by Ted Hollander‘s team high eight shots.

Hollander added two goals for the ‘Fish including the first goal midway through the first quarter. He added another four minutes before halftime. The first two goals by Miller came at the end of the first quarter within one minute of each other including a slick behind the back goal just before the end of the period.

Derek Sanchez scored his first career goal in the second quarter with Tristano Manzo adding his first goal later in the third. Trevor Keena added his 14th of the season as he shares the team-high with Miller. Trent Parker added his 7th of the season in the fourth quarter while Thomas Pinel scored twice in the quarter.

Ben Savick made 10 saves for the ‘Fish as he improves to 4-6 in the net for PBA. Alex Aken led the team with six groundballs while Hollander added five as PBA picked up 43 in the game compared to 41 for the Eagles. Landon Johnson won eight of 13 face offs for PBA as the team won 12 of 20.

The ‘Fish will travel to Lakeland to take on Florida Southern next Saturday, March 24 at 1 p.m.
