WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic men’s lacrosse pulled off the biggest victory in their young program’s history, defeating No. 7 New York Tech 17-11 on Thursday night. The win is the first for PBA over a ranked opponent in program history.

The Sailfish (2-1) jumped out to an early 2-0 lead as Ben Justice put the ‘Fish on top inside the first minute of the game. Blake Israel added the first of his three goals of the night before the Bears (0-1) finally got on the board four minutes in.

PBA led 5-2 after one as Jackson Miller scored back-to-back goals for the ‘Fish in the quarter. Things changed early in the second as NYIT scored three straight to tie the game at 6-6, but PBA went into halftime up 7-6 thanks to Townsend Brown’s second goal.

Neither team was able to do much offensively in the third as each team scored a single goal but the ‘Fish came alive in the fourth, hanging nine on NYIT. PBA started the final period with three straight as Miller, Zack Holmes and Israel all scored. Both Miller and Israel tied for the team lead with three goals. They also had five points as they both handed out two assists. Brown also collected five points in the game, adding three assists to his two goals.
