PBA Women: Sailfish Dominate Warriors To Pick Up Fifth Win 15-5

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic women’s lacrosse jumped out to a 12-0 lead in the first half against Nyack and never looked back, winning their third straight and fifth overall.

PBA took that 12-0 lead into halftime but the Warriors ended up outscoring the ‘Fish 5-3 in the second half with the final score a 15-5 advantage for PBA. Kate LeBlanc scored four times for PBA with Kiki Cinottiadding six more assists to her season total. The freshman now has 30 assists on the year and has eclipsed the 50-point mark.

   

Eight different players scored in the game for PBA including Maddie Frye notching her first career goal. Grace Bartlinski added a hat-trick and an assist while Shayna Rogers tallied two goals. Anna Laskaris registered a goal and an assist with Alyssa Yates and Taylor Gutmann all finding the back of the net.

The Sailfish dominated the first half, scoring just 12 seconds in as Rogers put the ball in the net off a feed from Laskaris. PBA added another goal just over a minute later and led 5-0 just over seven minutes into the game.

Chanel Nassir was credited with two caused turnovers as well as three ground balls while Lindsey Heffler also had three ground balls. Abigal Nehring led the way with four ground balls. She also made three saves in goal in the first half while Sarah Vernarelli was credited with five saves in the second half.

The ‘Fish are back in action on Wednesday as they host Alabama-Huntsville at 6 p.m.
