WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic women’s lacrosse hung with Alabama-Huntsville early before the Chargers pulled away for a 19-5 decision on Wednesday night.

The Sailfish thought they grabbed an early lead as Kiki Cinotti put the ball in the back of the net just 37 seconds into the game but the goal was waived off after a check of the stick. The Chargers responded with two goals within a minute of each other to take a 2-0 lead. The ‘Fish bounced back as Cinotti and Anna Laskaris scored back-to-back goals.

After two more goals from UAH, the ‘Fish closed the gap to 4-3 with 15:18 to play in the first half as Grace Bartlinski scored the first of her two goals. After that UAH scored seven straight to close the half and take an 11-3 lead into the break. The run continued into the second half as the Chargers added four more before Bartlinski scored her second. Shayna Rogers added a goal later on for PBA.

The ‘Fish will have an extended break before they return to action on March 30 to open SSC play against Rollins at 5 p.m.
