via Rollins press release   BOX SCORE BRYN ATHYN, Pa.  (March 15, 2019) – Utilizing a dominant full team performance, the seventh-ranked Rollins women’s lacrosse team made easy work of Holy Family University, routing the Tigers by a final score of 25-4 on Friday evening at Nelson Field on the campus of Bryn Athyn College. Despite adverse weather conditions that forced about an hour weather delay before the start of the second half, the Tars breezed to their eighth-straight win. The victory keeps the Tars perfect on the season, and extends their record to 8-0 overall, while the Tigers drop to 1-5 overall. Kaitlin Young led the team in goals and overall points as she tallied four goals and added an assist for five points, marking a new career high in both goals and points in a game.  Maddie McVicker matched Young in goals with four of her own, marking a new career best.  Shannon Polk also notched a career high, scoring a hat trick and adding an assist for four points overall.  Lily Rizk matched a career best for goals in a game as she tallied a hat trick on the evening.  Marina Longo matched a career high for goals and points in a game as she scored two goals and added an assist for three points.  Nikki Stumpf and Paige Brock each earned two points with a goal and an assist, while Kallie German scored two goals and added an assist of her own.  Hannah Coakley contributed two goals, followed by Rachel Valocchi, Caroline Gastonguay, and Sammy Ottimo with one goal each.  Ottimo dished out a game high two assists for a three-point performance.  Rounding out the Tars’ scoring efforts was Eden Cooke with one assist each.  Genia Sprinkle, McVicker, and Keirnan O’Keefe collected a team best two ground balls apiece, while Taylor Kienle won a game high 10 draw controls.  O’Keefe was credited for two caused turnovers on the evening, marking a new career best.  In goal, Gabby Tanner played 15:10 minutes, facing two shots and allowing two goals.  Sarah Neely played the final 44:50 between the pipes, facing three shots where she earned one save. Holy Family saw a team best two goals from Vanessa Pagliei, followed by Devon Felix and Tatceyana Pulley with one each.  Out of the Tiger’s four goals, three came off of free-position shots, while their fourth and final goal was unassisted.  In goal for HFU, Jenna Heath faced 36 shots from the Tars, earning 11 saves while allowing 25 goals.  Felix, Caleigh Gallagher, and Yasmin Machlof earned two ground balls each, while Casey Brown won two of the Tiger’s three draw controls on the night.  Felix also led the team in caused turnovers with two. The Tars dominated the game off the draw, winning 27-of-30 on the night. Rollins also led the game in ground balls, 15-9, and was strong on the ride, holding Holy Family to just six successful clears out of 15 total attempts.  Rollins scored on 4-of-6 free position shots, and dwarfed their opponent on the shot count, 43-6. How it Happened: The Tars scored 15 seconds into the game and never looked back, rolling out to a 15-2 lead at the half, and loading another 10 goals onto the scoreboard throughout the second half while holding Holy Family to just two goals in each half.  The win marks the third time in program history the Tars have scored 25 goals in a game. • The last time Rollins scored 25 points in a game was on Friday, April 17, 2015 in a 25-16 win over Shepherd at Tierney Field.  The most goals the Tars have scored in a game was on Friday, April 2, 2010 when they defeated Converse College by a score of 26-10.  Rollins also scored 25 goals against Converse on Sunday, April 26, 2009 with a final score of 25-3.

• With their 8-0 start to the season, the Tars have advanced the program’s third-best start in Rollins women’s lacrosse history.
• The Tars’ best undefeated run was in 2012, where they went 15-0 before falling to Regis in regular season action, 14-13.  That year, Rollins advanced to the NCAA Tournament Semifinals, where they fell to West Chester by a score of 19-10.
• The Tars’ second-best undefeated run was a 9-0 record in 2016.  The Tars eventually matched up against West Chester in the NCAA Tournament Quarterfinals, defeating the Rams 9-8 to advance to the Semifinals where they fell to Florida Southern by a score of 8-5.
• Rollins checked in at No. 7 on the IWLCA DII Poll, and No. 6 on the NIKE/US Lacrosse DII Top-20 this week.
