Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week

Jack Wood / University of Tampa / Fr. / Attack / Duxbury, Massachusetts

Wood takes Offensive Player of the Week accolades following Tampa’s 13-5 victory over No. 19 Florida Southern College. The freshman from Duxbury, Massachusetts, scored a career-high and four goals (one unassisted) in the victory. Wood placed seven of 10 shots on goal and an assist and groundball to his stat sheet.

Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week

Gunner Gebelein / Palm Beach Atlantic University / So. / LSM / Huntingtown, Maryland Gebelein records the second Defensive Player of the Week honor of his career following an outstanding performance against No. 14 Queens University. Gebelein, a native of Huntingtown, Maryland, recorded a game-high eight ground balls (for a non-faceoff player) and caused a game-high five turnovers as PBA fell to Queens 16-9 at home. The sophomore leads the SSC in ground balls among non-faceoff specialists and leads the conference in caused turnovers.

Men’s Lacrosse Specialist of the Week Ross Dickerson / University of Tampa / Sr. / FOS / Berlin, Maryland Dickerson is awarded Specialist of the Week for his performance in the X during Tampa’s 13-5 victory over No. 19 Florida Southern College. The senior faceoff specialist won 15-of-22 faceoffs (.682) in the victory. Dickerson also picked up nine groundballs and dished and assist in the contest. The weekly award is the ninth of his career, which places him third all-time in SSC men’s lacrosse and ninth all-time for Tampa. 13814

Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week

Claire Swanson / University of Tampa / Sr. / Midfield / Cheyenne, Wyoming Swanson was the offensive leader for Tampa during a 2-0 week on the road. In a 19-5 victory at Newberry College, Swanson led the way with five points off four goals and an assist. She would also add five draw controls in the game. During a 19-6 win at Lenoir-Rhyne University, the Cheyenne, Wyoming native totaled eight points from five goals and three assists. Swanson also added nine draw controls and caused a turnover. For the week, she totaled nine goals, four assists, and 14 draw controls. She would also have a shot on goal percentage of .765 in the two games. The weekly award is the third of her career.. 13809

Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week

Patricia Werker / Florida Southern College / So. / Goalie / Nesconset, New York Werker is honored following her performance in goal against a pair of Top-10 opponents. The Nesconset, New York product tallied 11 saves while facing 22 shots and allowing just four goals in an 8-4 win over No. 1 Adelphi University. Werker then recorded 11 more saves and faced 30 total shots as FSC fell to No. 9 Lindenwood University 13-9 at home. The sophomore finished the week with 22 saves, three goundballs, and a caused turnover, a 7.00 goals against average, and a .611 save percentage. 13816
