St. Edward’s 2020 Catalina Pratt Commits to Queens University of Charlotte!

Congratulations to Catalina for her college choice and good luck in the future!   Name Catalina Pratt High School Saint Edwards School Graduation Year 2020 College Choice Queens University of Charlotte Club Affiliations Dodgers CT     Why did you choose this college? I chose Queens because the team bond (coaches, players) was unlike any I had ever seen before. It’s in Charlotte, NC which is a big fun city and a change from the small town of Vero Beach, and their connections to the outside world when I leave will give me amazing opportunities. What are your first memories of the sport? When I was 6 years old, going out to the local lacrosse store and getting all my gear with my dad and then passing in the front yard for a couple of hours. I remember being amazed that he could pick up the ball with one hand. What part of the process was most surprising to you about the recruiting process and what would you like to pass on to those who are going to face it in the future? Reach out as much as possible. Even if the coach doesn’t respond it doesn’t mean that they are not interested. They get a lot of emails every tournament from players adding them to the generic email they send to 10 other coaches. Keep reaching out and showing your interest so they know you really are interested. Who would you like to thank for helping you get here? I would, of course, like to thank my parents first, who funded my entire experience and constantly supported me. Coach Cassara, Coach Cami, Coach Mullins, and Coach Carolyn, you guys were the ones who basically surrounded me and convinced me that I should just see where it could take me. I almost decided I was completely done last year and they stopped me. Coach Bob, you were one of my favorites and my first coach coming out of pee-wee lacrosse. You kept practice fun and sparked my love for lacrosse and at a very young age.
