Congratulations to Carli on her college choise and good luck in the future!   Name Carli Fleisher High School Marjory Stoneman Douglas Graduation Year 2022 College Choice Northwestern University Club Affiliations Florida Select 2022 Why did you choose this college? I chose Northwestern because I wanted a school that would allow me to have top academics as well as the ability to win a national championship. After going to multiple camps at various schools, I knew that I wanted to be coached by Coach Kelly Amonte Hiller, Coach Scott Hiller, and Coach Shleby Fredericks. All of whom were All-Americans in their time. Northwestern embodies everything I could want in a university and I can’t wait to be a Wildcat!     What are your first memories of the sport? My first memories of playing lacrosse started at Parkland Redhawks and continued with the travel progam Madskillz. I remember the first tournament where as 5th graders, we were playing in a High School B division. We all wore pigtails to make the other team think we were just kids. Little did they know we were the ones that would return home that day with the gold medal. What part of the process was most surprising to you about the recruiting process and what would you like to pass on to those who are going to face it in the future? I was surprised on how many different emotions went through my head. It was exciting, stressful, and time consuming. For those facing this in the future, I would say to make sure you keep an open mind, everything happens for a reason. I would also say to make sure you are prepared, know the coaches names, know information about the school, and have a list of questions prepared to ask them. Another important things is to sell yourself, make sure you have something that will make you stand out amongst other recruits. Who would you like to thank for helping you get here? There are many people I would like to thank for helping me through this process. I would like to thank my parents for putting in so much time, effort, and money to help achieve my goals. I would also like to thank my friends and teammates for always encouraging me to be the best person I can be, on and off the field. Also a huge thank you to John McClain. Thank you for giving me my first lacrosse lessons and for bringing Florida lacrosse to the next level. Lastly, I would like to thank Coach Jon Weiner for always believing in me and for understanding my game better than anyone. Throughout the years he has not only taught me lacrosse, but how to be a leader and a better person. (Also thank you for turning me into a lefty)! A special shoutout goes to Coach Bee and Coach Scott for being such amazing coaches throught the years!
