UT: #6 Women’s Lacrosse Set to Open 2020 Season Tonight at 7:30pm

  via Tampa press release   TAMPA, Fla – The University of Tampa women’s lacrosse team is set to open the 2020 season at home as they welcome in the University of Alabama in Huntsville Chargers. The Matchup: No. 6 University of Tampa (0-0) vs. University of Alabama in Huntsville Chargers (0-1) Date/Time: Friday, February 7, 2020, at 7:30 p.m. Location: Naimoli Family Athletic and Intramural Complex. 1120 West North A Street, Tampa, FL 33606 Series History: UT leads the all-time series against UAH 3-0. The last time the two teams met was March 16, 2019, when Tampa won 15-5 at home. About the Spartans: Tampa enters the season as the sixth ranked team in the nation. UT was also selected as the favorite to claim the Sunshine State Conference championship. The Spartans are returning two All-Americans from last year’s team, as Claire Swanson and Carly VaccaroHear how to pronounce Carly Vaccaro will look to lead Tampa back into the NCAA postseason. About the Chargers:  The Chargers will enter the matchup with a 0-1 record as they opened their season up last week against the seventh ranked Rollins College Tars. Cara Brown and Hailey Gallant led the way for UAH as they each collected three goals in the season opener. UAH was also selected as co-favorites to claim the Gulf South Conference championship as they won the GSC tournament last season.
