Webber Men: Chase Jackson named AAC Freshman of the Year!

(April 20, 2021) – Chase Jackson of the inaugural Webber International University men’s lacrosse team has been named as the Appalachian Athletic Conference’s Freshman of the Year for the 2021 men’s lacrosse season. Jackson, a freshman attack from Lutz, Florida, led the Warriors with 13 assists and 29 points during their inaugural season, and was second on the team with 16 goals scored. He was second on the Warriors with 41 shot attempts and 29 shots on goal, he finished the year with a .390 shot percentage and a .707 shots on goal percentage, and had 10 groundballs and four caused turnovers. In addition to scoring three goals in a game three times this season, Jackson had a career-high four assists and seven points during Webber’s final win of the season against Montreat on March 27. He was one of eight Warriors to play in all 10 games this season, and was one of only five to start in all 10 games. In all of the Appalachian Athletic Conference, Jackson was tied for seventh in total assists, was eighth in assists per game (1.30), was ninth in shot percentage, was tied for 17th in total points, and was 18th in points per game (2.90). In all of the NAIA, Jackson ranked 27th in total assists and 31st in assists per game.
