MELBOURNE, FLA.  – Florida Tech women’s lacrosse faced off against the Ashland Eagles from Ohio in which the Panthers earned the decisive 20-4 victory for their third straight victory.

FIRST QUARTER:

• Kayla Minton started off the game scoring for the Panthers assisted by Carly Niro.
• Niro then scored off an assist from Rachel Johnson.
• Johnson followed scoring with an assist from Gillian Craig to put Tech up 3-0 before an Ashland goal.
• Minton and Johnson closed out the first scoring their second goal of the night to make it 5-1 at the end of the first.

SECOND QUARTER:

• Niro’s second goal of the night came a women down to start the second.
• The Eagles answered back to make it a 6-3 game.
• Johnson’s second goal of the game started the Panther’s streak of 10 unanswered goals.
• Sophia Scichilone recorded back-to-back unassisted goals, prior to Karly Liebendorfer’s first goal of the game with an assist from Niro.
• Minton, Scichilone and Niro’s back-to-back-to-back hat trick goals to end the second allowed Tech to have the 13-2 lead over Ashland entering halftime.

THIRD QUARTER:

• Caroline Finn continued Tech’s unanswered goal streak scoring 1:10 into the third quarter.
• Liebendorfer recorded back-to-back goals, her first of the two assisted by Niro.
• Ashland broke the Crimson and Gray’s unanswered goals streak scoring 8:18 into the third.
• Gabrielle Skowronski put the Panthers back up 17-3 from Niro’s fourth assist in the game. Followed by a goal from Emma Angelo.
• Karly Liebendorfer’s fourth goal of the night came with 1:27 to go in the 3^rd from a Jennifer Boyle assist.

FOURTH QUARTER:

• Ashland started the fourth quarter with a goal to trail 19-4.
• Emma Angelo’s second goal of the night was the last of the game as Tech earned the 20-4 win.

NOTABLE PANTHERS:

• Niro’s seven points from three goals and four assists match a career high.
• Liebendorfer’s four points from four goals set a career-high in goals.
• Johnson also scored four points from three goals and one assist with Minton and Scichilone also picking up hat tricks in the game.
• Minton, Niro and Skowronski led the team with three ground balls each.
• Niro, Minton, Charlotte Hardie, Elizabeth Christ and Kailee O’Brien. Each led the team in caused turnovers.
• Emma Angelo led the team in draw controls with six wins.
• Emily Harris picked up her third win in net allowing three goals with five saves in 45 minutes of play.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

• Florida Tech outshot Ashland 41-14.
• Ashland made nine saves to Tech’s five.
• Ashland turned the ball over 12 times compared to Tech’s seen turnovers.
• The Panthers were a perfect 13-13 on clears while Ashland went 9-11 on draw control attempts.
• Tech led the Eagles in draw control 19-8.
• The Crimson and Gray received four more free-position shots with 7 to Ashland’s 3
