Flagler Men: Saints Dominate Faceoff Circle to Advance to Semifinals

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Moving on.

The Flagler College men’s lacrosse team advanced to the semifinals of the Peach Belt Conference Tournament, following a 20-10 victory against Young Harris College at the Flagler Lacrosse Field Tuesday afternoon.

The Saints will now hit the road for a trip to Huntsville, Ala., for a matchup with the University of Alabama in Huntsville this coming Friday, May 6 at 8 p.m. (ET).

It was a competitive first quarter, with the score knotted up at three apiece. The Mountain Lions took a 4-3 advantage early on in the second quarter, but that would be the last time they were in striking distance, with the Saints scoring eight of the final nine goals. When it was all said in done, Flagler tallied a season-high eleven goals to take a 14-6 lead as the lead would only grow.

In the second quarter, eight different Saints beat the Young Harris netminder, including Tanner Sims netting his first collegiate goal off snipe on the right side.

When it was all said and done, Flagler got points from 15 different Saints. Chris Neira and Luke Kane both notched assists for their first points, while Justin LaBanz will bring a ball home after his first collegiate goal.

Defensively, coach Tim King‘s line caused 13 turnovers, with Logan Patrick and Parker Collins each causing three and Ethan Lyles and Dom Trager causing a pair.
