FLN Girls 2A Top 10 for the Week Ending 3/20/22!

Well, the only changes this week is a reshuffling at the top of the Poll as well as adding Manatee to the ‘Also Considered’ list.

That’s what happens when no one besides the Top 4 teams played, and Steinbrenner also did not play.

Bartram Trail’s trip south went 1-2 and included a one-goal loss to St. Thomas on day three of the trip, which shows how close those two are. Bartram and Ponte Vedra renew their rivalry Saturday at the aptly named Rivalry on the River. Before then, BT, plus Vero and Hagerty, are scheduled to test national power St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes of Virginia.

So, we move Vero Beach up to #1 based on their previous win over Steinbrenner, as well as their win over Valor Christian (Co). The Vero-LHP game was unfortunately postponed and might not be made up.

Steinbrenner’s schedule is light until a 4/1 matchup with Ponte Vedra. St. Thomas, after their big win, traveled to Orlando and came up short against Lake Highland.

Ponte Vedra also travels to St. Augustine this week. Newsome’s schedule is less challenging until a 3/30 matchup with Plant. Plant takes on Bishop Moore on Friday. Boca Raton has a few easy games this week as they prepare for AH-Delray and King’s Academy back-to-back the following week.

Lake Mary has three games coming up, with a Tuesday trip to undefeated Oviedo and Friday at St. Augustine. Hagerty has the game mentioned above as well as Bishop Moore on Tuesday. Wiregrass Ranch meets Sickles on Friday and Oviedo has three games this week.

Manatee’s record looks better now as their three losses were to Out-of-Door by one, Gulf Coast by two and St. Stephen’s Episcopal by one, so we move them into consideration. Gulf Coast was the only one to play last week in the A-C’s, beating Academy of Holy Names and faces Naples Tuesday.
