Written by Lee Roggenburg on . Posted in , , , .

Two weeks to go in the regular season, and game results continue to roll in that effect both this polling AND the FHSAA power rankings.

If you haven’t watched any Who’s In/Who’s Out broadcasts on Varsity Sports Network, please do so. It will surprise you if you haven’t been paying attention.

It’s been playing on the network at Noon and 5:00pm, so check it out!

Here’s last week’s Poll:

FLN Girls 1A Top 10 Poll for the Week Ending 3/19/23

1) American Heritage-Delray (9-1)

2) Lake Highland Prep (10-1)

3) Ponte Vedra (7-2)

4) Episcopal School (6-3)

5) South Fork (7-1)

6) St. Augustine (10-2)

7) St. Stephen’s (8-0)

8) Saint Andrew’s (8-2)

9) Jensen Beach (8-3)

10) Pensacola Catholic (6-3)

Also Considered:

American Heritage-Plantation (8-0), Bishop Moore (3-6), Holy Names (8-1), Community School (5-1), Pine Crest (7-2)

AH-Delray went to Orlando and handled Lake Mary 21-12 and then came home and took down nationally-ranked Stone Ridge 9-6; a great win for the school and the state. They host St. Augustine on Monday and close with IMG and Community School. We’ll see how the national polls treat them this week.

Lake Highland fell for the 2nd straight year to Steinbrenner and faced First Academy on Friday, but no score has been posted yet. Two games remain, with an out-of-state West Forsythe and the final week against Hagerty.

Ponte Vedra fell to St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes (VA) in a close game, handled Creekside and lost their Rivalry on the River game to Bartram Trail this weekend. They travel to Plant this week and have one game scheduled the last week.

Episcopal had a big one-goal win over St. Augustine for seeding purposes before losing to SS&SA; their Nease game score was not posted. This week is very tough, with a trip to Hagerty plus home games with Bishop Moore and Bolles.

South Fork with an easy week, beating Pine School. This week they have Benjamin and travel to Martin County and Dwyer, with three more games the following week.

St. Augustine fell to Episcopal and came back with wins over Fletcher and Oviedo, and they come south for AH-Delray before finishing with a tough test in Lake Brantley to end their regular season.

St. Stephen’s continued their winning ways, with a surprisingly easy win over Academy of Holy Names and Calvary Christian Clearwater to stay undefeated. The season is scheduled to end this week for them with 3 games, including a true measure with Gulf Coast.

St. Andrew’s did not play last week and only has Calvary Christian Ft Laud this week before finishing with short road trips to SJP and Boca Raton.

Jensen Beach split on the week, falling to Pine Crest by a goal at home and then taking a road win at Martin County. This week is light, with a game at Sebastian River.

Pensacola Catholic fell to St. Augustine at home and their Pensacola score has not been posted. The final two weeks shows a total of six games, which is a different approach to what many other schools are doing.

AH-Plantation did not play last week and hosts both Cardinal Gibbons and SJP this week. It’s been very hard to get a true reading on them given the schedule.

Bishop Moore took three games against weaker competition this week, with the best win over Creekside by four. Now we’ll see how much they have come along, as they go to Episcopal this week before travelling to STA and Bartram to finish up. They still really don’t have that one signature win yet. FHSAA does have them as a #4 seed in a weak bracket.

Holy Names has now been blown out twice this season, including the past week’s loss to St. Stephen’s and falls off consideration. Community School has won nine in a row with 3 wins last week and still has Gulf Coast and AH-Delray coming up. They also face Barron Collier this week.

Pine Crest got their big win over Jensen Beach on the road plus a win over Calvary Christian Ft Laud, but have both St Thomas at home and a trip to Vero this week. A split would be a big message.

Oak Hall has won 5 in a row, but hasn’t had that one big win to get into the Top 10.
