Florida Alums Named MCLA D2 All-Americans!

Five collegians have been named MCLA All-Americans in Division 2 from Florida colleges, and four of them are alums of Florida high schools.

FGCU’s William Watson was named 1st team on defense, and is a Martin County grad

FGCU’s Jayson Andino was named Honorable Mention on attack, and is a Barron Collier grad

FGCU’s Carter Ayres was also named Honorable Mention on attack, and is also a Barron Collier grad

FAU’s Gabriel Cirrillo was named Honorable Mention on defense, and is a Wellington grad

D-II All-America Teams Announced

ATLANTA – UNC-Charlotte graduate student Nick Ferens, who was named the MCLA Division II Player of the Year, leads the 2022 All-America selections.

Ferens, who led the 49ers to a 12-2 season and a trip to the quarterfinals of the 2022 MCLA National Championships presented by New Balance, is one of five UNC-Charlotte selections among the top three All-America teams.

Rhode Island skipper Larry Madeira was named the Flip Naumburg MCLA Coach of the Year after guiding the Rams to a 12-2 record and a spot in the championship game.

All-America selections are made my a committee featuring a representative from each of the MCLA’s nine conferences.
