Four UCF Knights Named to 2016 All-SELC Team

Orlando, Fla. (June 9, 2016) – The Southeastern Lacrosse Conference (SELC) All-Conference selections have been released, including four members of the University of Central Florida Men’s Lacrosse team.  Out of 814 players in the conference, only 42 were named 1st-, 2nd-, or 3rd-Team All-SELC, including the following key contributors for the Knights: Freshman Rylan Kortus (Oviedo High School |Oviedo, FL) was named 1st Team All-SELC Attack at the conclusion of his first year with the Knights, notching 40 goals and 7 assists on the season, leading the scoring for the Knights.

Junior Caleb Ross (Lake Brantley High School | Altamonte Springs, FL)
Junior Caleb Ross (Lake Brantley High School | Altamonte Springs, FL) was also named 1st Team All-SELC at Long Stick Midfield. Ross compiled 62 ground balls, 4 goals, and 7 assists while going 65% on the season at the faceoff X. Senior Steven Thompson (Gulliver Preparatory School | Miami, FL) earned 2nd Team All-SELC honors at Defense by leading the team in caused turnovers and accounting for 31 ground balls in his final season with the Knights. Sophomore Daniel Harris (University School | Fort Lauderdale, FL) earned 3rd Team All-SELC honors at Goalkeeper after a dominant season in cage, making 139 saves on 226 shots, good enough for a 61.5% save percentage.
