SARASOTA, Fla. – The Florida Southern men’s lacrosse team sent a group of five student-athletes along with head coach Marty Ward and assistant coach Matt Maccario to Emma E Booker Elementary School in Sarasota, Fla. to work with some of the students on learning and growing the sport of lacrosse. The team’s efforts were recognized by WWSB ABC 7 Sarasota which featured an article on the event on its website.

Graduate students Craig Connor and Jay Minor, juniors Jack Frazee and Tom Boyd and sophomore Jackson Perkins all worked with the students to help improve their skills and knowledge of the game with many of the students picking up a lacrosse stick for the very first time.

“It’s just great seeing the joy in the kid’s faces, really being able to work with them,” said coach Ward according to the article. “Seeing their first time passion of picking up a stick and really believing it is a medicine game, and it does make you feel great when you play the game of lacrosse.”
