FSC Women: Lynch Named Nike Lacrosse/USA Lacrosse Magazine Preseason All-American!

via FSC press release

LAKELAND, Fla. – Graduate student Lizzy Lynch of the No. 7 Florida Southern College women’s lacrosse team has been named a Preseason All-American by Nike/USA Lacrosse.

Lynch, who has played 50 games for the Moccasins over the last four seasons, has established herself as a staple of the offense over the last two years.

The Boca Raton, Fla. native had a breakthrough season last year, recording 40 goals to go along with 28 assists to crush her previous career highs. In the Sunshine State Conference playoffs, Lynch recorded ten points, including six in the championship game victory over the University of Tampa.

Lynch was named an honorable-mention All-American by USA Lacrosse at the conclusion of last season while receiving second-team All-America honors from the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA).

Named a preseason All-American for the first time in her career, Lynch is set to return for her fifth season with the Moccasins as their slate of games begins on Feb. 17 against the University of Mount Olive on the road.

Earlier this week, the Moccasins were ranked No. 7 in the Nike/USA Lacrosse Division II Women’s Preseason Poll.

Two other Sunshine State Conference players earned All-American honors, with Caroline Gastonguay from Rollins College and Cece Colombo from the University of Tampa each earning accolades.
