JU Women’s Lacrosse 2023 Schedule Released

Jacksonville University Women’s Lacrosse announced its 2023 spring schedule on Monday afternoon. The season will consist of fourteen home games and four away games. At the conclusion of the regular season, the Dolphins are set to host the ASUN Conference Women’s Lacrosse Championship.
At the end of its 2022 season, Jacksonville University welcomed new head coach Tara Singleton and brought on a new assistant coach in Molly Little. Both coaches join assistant coach Mike Bedford and hope to continue the program’s success.
Coach Singleton, when asked about the slate, stated, “Along with our ASUN Conference opponents, we have scheduled some of the top teams in the country in our non-conference play. It will be a great challenge for us, and we are eager to kick off our 2023 season.”
The first six weeks of the regular season are matches against non-conference opponents, beginning with Michigan in the home opener on February 10 at 4 p.m. To kick off ASUN play, the Dolphins travel to Delaware State for a contest on March 18.
Under the new leadership, the team hopes to continue the program’s success of past years. The Dolphins are focused on capturing another ASUN title and making a deeper run into the NCAA Tournament.
JU finished the 2022 regular season with an impressive 14-5 overall record and a 5-0 conference record before entering the ASUN Championship Tournament at home in Jacksonville, Florida. The team captured its eighth ASUN Conference Championship, the fifth in a row, and earned its eighth bid to the NCAA Tournament.
JU defeated Stanford in the first round of the Tournament, 20-8, to move on to the second round for the second time. This 12-goal victory marked Jacksonville’s second-largest margin of victory in an NCAA Tournament. The team’s impressive run ended after the Florida Gators defeated the Dolphins.
This year, the Dolphins are gearing up for another tough season with opponents from power-5 conferences, including; Stanford, Penn, Florida, and Rutgers. The match-ups against Army and Navy will be the first meetings for Jacksonville University with those two programs in women’s lacrosse history.
