Keiser men’s lacrosse remained undefeated today with a win at Montreat. KU scored a season high 15 goals, and four Seahawks recorded hat tricks. 

First Quarter
Keiser 2, Montreat 1

  • The Seahawks got their offense going early when Jack Gillen scored a goal 57 seconds into the game. 
  • Seven minutes later, AJ Badik scored to put KU up by two. 
  • Montreat answered four minutes later with their first goal of the day. 

Second Quarter
Keiser 5, Montreat 1

  • Josten Ucros hit the back of the net with 10:30 on the clock with an AJ Badik assist. 
  • After an eight minute stalemate, Jack Gillen scored on a man-up play. 
  • With 0:15 on the clock, Keiser came out of a timeout and perfectly executed a scoring play that allowed Jack Gillen to score unassisted. 
Third Quarter

Keiser 9, Montreat 3

  • The Seahawks got right back to work after halftime, with Josten Ucros scoring his second goal of the game one minute into the quarter. 
  • After six scoreless minutes, Montreat scored to cut the Keiser lead down to four. 
  • A minute later, Marek Albiero scored courtesy of a Vincent Cerasuolo assist. 
  • Albiero scored for a second time three minutes later, this time unassisted. 
  • 40 seconds after that, Trevor Hall scored with a Cerasuolo assist. 
  • Montreat scored the final goal of the quarter to get within six. 
Fourth Quarter

Keiser 15, Montreat 7

  • Montreat scored the first goal of the quarter with 12:15 on the clock. 
  • Brent Young scored one minute later with a Marek Albiero assist.
  • AJ Badik scored his second goal of the day unassisted 59 seconds later. 
  • Keiser won the ensuing faceoff and immediately James MacGilvray scored with an assist from Chris Rayburn
  • Montreat scored a goal one minute later. 
  • With 6:23 to play, Jack Gillen scored his fourth goal of the game. 
  • Two minutes later, Josten Ucros completed a hat trick with an unassisted goal. 
  • Marek Albiero competed a hat trick of his own when he scored unassisted with 3:19 on the clock.
  • Montreat would add two goals in the final two minutes of the game to make the final score 15-7.

KU Highlights

  • Jack Gillen recorded four goals for the third straight game. 
  • Josten Ucros scored three goals against his former team. 
  • Christian Tomei (6-0) remained unbeaten and recorded 7 saves. 
  • Cam Provines was a perfect 14-14 on faceoffs.
  • Keiser was efficient on clears, going 21-26. 
  • KU outshot Montreat 54-24.
