SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo men’s lacrosse alumni, Chad Marino, returns to University Turf Stadium as the newest addition of head coach Brad Jorgensen‘s coaching staff. The 2016 Green and Gold graduate helped propel the men’s lacrosse program as a two-time All-Sunshine State Conference midfielder while he obtained his degree in Sport Business. Marino made his official return on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, joining 17th-year head coach Brad Jorgensen and first-year graduate assistant coach, Connor Grippe.

“We are happy to welcome Chad back to campus,” expressed Jorgensen. “He was a leader on and off the field during his career and has become a fixture in the Tampa lacrosse community. Chad’s experience and expertise are a welcomed addition to the staff.”

Marino has spent the last three years at the helm of the East Lake Eagles Lacrosse team in Tarpon Springs, Fla. His work with the Eagles spearheaded efforts to transition the East Lake program from a club sport into a varsity program.

Prior to working with the Eagles, Marino directed the Yellow Jackets Youth Lacrosse Club. In addition, he helped manage Spring Break Lacrosse (SBL), which has built up the Florida lacrosse scene by crafting spring break packages for out-of-state high school and collegiate programs to compete in the beautiful Sunshine State.

Originally from Mt. Sinai, New York, Marino had a tremendous collegiate lacrosse career seeing 48 games of action. Marino compiled 46 goals and 32 assists for 78 points while also picking up 27 ground balls and causing nine turnovers.
