SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo men’s lacrosse team fell to the Montevallo Falcons in a Sunday afternoon matchup 17-9.

The Lions now move to 0-3 after another good showing that got away from them towards the second half of the game.

In the first quarter, both teams were rock solid on defense preventing each other to score more than one goal apiece.

First goal of the game for the Lions came from Ryan Marek in the last couple minutes of the quarter.

In the second quarter we saw much of the same as both sides were able to be on par with each but this time the offensive output was stronger with three goals from both teams.

The game went to halftime with a 4-4 score.

The third quarter was where things got lost for Saint Leo as Montevallo were able to put eight goals past Chase Strait with the Lions output only being four.

In the fourth quarter, more of the same continued as the Lions were out scored 5-1 to bring the final score to 17-9 in the Falcons’ favor.

Up next, the Lions will come back to the sunshine state to take on Palm Beach Atlantic on February 25th at 7:00pm.
