TAMPA, Fla. – The No. 7 University of Tampa women’s lacrosse team dominates the Bobcats at home.

Final: No. 7 University of Tampa 17, Frostburg State 6

HOW IT HAPPENED:

First Quarter: The game started with Tampa getting on the board first with a goal by Olivia Mott. Teammate Cece Colombo followed suit, to build the Spartan lead to two goals early. The Bobcats got one back with just over eleven minutes left in the quarter. Tampa responded with Lizzie Pierpont netting a goal of her own to put the Spartans back in a two goal lead. Mott connected with Pierpont in front of the net with just under eight minutes left in the first to extend the Spartan lead. The Spartan offense continued to roll, and they headed into the second quarter with the lead over the Bobcats. The goals for the Spartans were scored as follows:

Second Quarter: The second 15 minutes began with Frostburg State opening the scoring, cutting the Tampa lead to five goals. Allie Peebles opened the scoring for the Spartans with an unassisted goal with just under 10 minutes before the half. Emma McLoughlin netted a pair of goals about two minutes apart to build the Spartan lead to eight goals. With around three minutes left, the Bobcats made a goalie change to try and solve the Tampa offense. The great defensive play from Tampa, along with the explosive offense put them in a dominating lead before the half. The Spartan goals headed into halftime were scored as follows:

Third Quarter: The second half began slower than the first, with each team playing well defensively. The Bobcats opened the scoring once again, cutting the Spartan lead to eleven goals with just over seven minutes left. Shapiro capitalized off a pass from Pierpont to net her second of the matchup, keeping Tampa in a dominate twelve goal lead headed into the final 15 minutes. The Spartan goals were scored as follows:

Fourth Quarter: The final quarter began similarly to the previous three, with great defensive play. Hinkle finished off her hattrick early in the quarter. The Bobcats responded to keep a twelve goal difference between the teams. Ultimately, the Spartans’ explosive offense was too much for the Bobcats to handle. The Spartan goals for the fourth quarter were scored as follows:
