Tampa: Defending National Champion Spartans Name 2023 Captains

TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa men’s lacrosse team has announced their five captains for the 2023 season. Daniel FitzpatrickHarry KilkowskiLuke McAnaneyOwen Miller, and Brady Stoll all have earned the honor to lead the Spartans into the season. 

Daniel Fitzpatrick is a graduate midfielder from Chester, New York. Fitzpatrick is coming off an impressive senior campaign, where he led the team in goals (39) and game appearances (21). He was also awarded a USILA Honorable Mention for his efforts on the field.

Harry Kilkowski is a graduate attacker from Summit, New Jersey. Last season, he led the team in assists (39) and was second on the team in points (66). Kilkowski was named Second-Team All-SSC and a USILA Honorable Mention for his performance.

Luke McAnaney is a graduate midfielder from Syracuse, New York. McAnaney is coming off an excellent senior year, where he was second on the team in goals (48) and appeared in all 21 games for the Spartans.

Owen Miller is a senior attacker from Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Last season, he was named USILA Second-Team All-American, USILA First Team All-South Region, and First-Team All-SSC after his astounding year. Miller ranked 4th on the team in goals (33) and appeared in all 21 games played for the Spartans.

Brady Stoll is a graduate long stick midfielder from Cincinnati, Ohio. Stoll is coming off a stunning senior season, starting in 20 of 21 games and being named Second-Team All-SSC. He recovered 37 groundballs and caused 14 turnovers last season.

UT will have 8 home games this year played under the lights of Naimoli Stadium. The Spartans will be away from home for seven games, including three neutral site matchups. The Spartans’ schedule also features five games against teams ranked in the 2023 Nike/USA Lacrosse Division II Top-20 List. The Spartans enter the year as the first ranked team in the nation, after winning the Division II National Championship last season.

Tampa’s season starts in Melbourne, Florida on February 4th, as they visit the Florida Tech Panthers. On March 19th, Tampa will face off against Lenior-Rhyne for a neutral site matchup played in Savannah, Georgia.

Tampa will open up Sunshine State Conference play on February 4th as they travel across the state to take on conference opponent Florida Tech. UT will wrap up the regular season on April 22nd against Seton Hill University in a neutral site game.
