Nicholas Dworet Dedication To Be Held Sunday in Coral Springs

Author’s Note: Readers of my Stoneman article will remember that Nicholas was the boyfriend of Taravella Lacrosse Head Coach Joe Chiarella’s daughter. For those who are not familiar with the connection this is it.
On Sunday Feb 3rd at 11:00 am the Nicholas Dworet Memorial Fund will be hosting an event at the Coral Springs Aquatic Center 12441 Royal Palm Blvd, Coral Springs, FL 33065 dedicating a bench and tree that were placed there in remembrance of Nicholas Dworet. Nick grew up in Coral Springs and starting swimming when he was seven years old. He spent many days at the pool and swimming was a big part of his life. Coral Springs Aquatic Center is also the pool that the Douglas swim/water polo team practiced so the bench and tree, along with a plaque will be something that swimmers will be able to enjoy for many years to come. We will have students from Douglas performing a few of Nick’s favorite songs and Nick’s parents and others speaking about Nick his legacy and what the bench and tree means to them.
