Not exactly the story I like to lead off the day with.  Was told of this last night at the CC-Western game.  The entire lacrosse community sends our best wishes to the family, school, lacrosse team and friends.  The link contains the news segment from CBS Channel 4 in Miami, as well as an Instagram post from his girlfriend that everyone should watch.  It goes without saying, hug your loved ones every day.  

Westminster Christian School Student Killed In Boat Crash In The Keys

Excerpt: MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Westminster Christian School announced Monday that one of their students had died in a boat crash near the Florida Keys over the weekend. Authorities said Lucas Alvarez, 18, died when the boat he was in hit a marker Sunday. It happened after 3:45 p.m., according to the investigating agency, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Here is what the FWC said happened: “The vessel was cruising on the bayside of Islamorada, heading south in Bowlegs Cut and struck a channel marker. Three occupants were ejected. Occupant Alvarez was found in the water with trauma to his lower torso and was recovered from the water. He was given CPR and applied pressure to his injuries. He was transported to EMS on shore. EMS transported Mr. Alvarez to Mariners Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.” Read the rest HERE
