A Magical Weekend of Lacrosse in Jupiter!

Written by Lee Roggenburg on . Posted in .
I’ll be writing up the game recaps of the finals later today, but what a great two days!   First a big thank you to the FHSAA for bringing the games down to the Southeast for the first time! Jupiter Community High School and the Palm Beach County Sports Commission partnered to bring the FHSAA Lacrosse Championships to Palm Beach County. A great thanks to the volunteers were from the JHS Boys and Girls Lacrosse teams, the JHS football team, the Booster Club, JTAA and the Town of Jupiter. This was truly a team and community effort.

And boy did you attend!  Nearly 1,500 the first day and probably not much less the next when you combine the two separate events.  And a number of kids participating in the Saturday morning clinic!  Loud cheers, engaged crowds, tremors in the stands.

Where do you start?

How about the BT comeback late in the first semifinal to catch Olympia late?

The debutante party for a special 8th grader from Delray?

LHP’s great championship run ended by an offensive explosion from up north?

The magical 3OT Boys semi that will NEVER be forgotten?

All on Friday ALONE.

Without a full moon.

And on Saturday

A slight girl named Lexi slinging the rock way better than David ever did, as the giant finally fell in OT.

And the Sharks and the Raiders outdoing West Side Story by a mile with an intensity rarely seen as finally one long-time bridesmaid finally tied the knot with a championship trophy.

Check back with us later today as we at FLN put together all the coverage of the greatest weekend of lacrosse the state has ever seen . . .

And the Final Top 20 Poll will likely be posted on Monday.
