Bishop Moore handles Winter Park in OT

Bishop Moore and Winter Park slugged it out on Saturday morning, both teams turning around on short rest after tough losses on Friday night in the O’Town Showdown at Lake Highland Prep.  Bishop Moore’s defense clearly came ready to slow down the prolific scoring we are used to seeing from the Winter Park offense.  The score was tied at 2 each at the end of the first half.  Bishop Moore won the third quarter 3-2 but could not hold on as Winter Park held the Hornets scoreless in the fourth and tied the game up at 5.  Both teams had a possession in the Over Time period but only Bishop Moore managed to get off a shot and that’s all it took.  With 2:22 left in the first OT period Bishop Moore’s Addison Lanpher drove from X and got the took the shot off of an  inside roll that scored the upset for the Hornets. Winter Park’s scoring was done by Andrew Nugent, Nicco Vella, Matthew Krecicki, Garrett Manno, and Ty Price who all scored 1 goal.  Assists were added by Max Chomic, who had 2, and Garret Manno and Nick Slavens with one each. Bishop Moore had goals by Jack Tangeman, with 2, Addison Lanpher, Matt Catan, Blake Tiralosi, and Jordan Giovanetti who each added 1 goal.
