Bishop Moore Over Jesuit in High Scoring Game 18-15

In a game in which no shot clock was needed, Bishop Moore (3-1) outpointed Tampa Jesuit (2-1) 18-15. The teams combined for 87 shots, 63 of which were on goal. Jesuit jumped out to an 8-4 first quarter lead, as 6 different Tigers found the back of the net. The Hornets came back strong on both offense and defense in the 2nd, as they blitzed Jesuit with 7 straight goals, 5 from University of Tampa recruit Joey McMahan, to take an 11-8 halftime lead. Bishop Moore didn’t let up in the 3rd, increasing their lead to 15-10. The Hornets added 3 more in the 4th and were up 18-11 with under 6 minutes remaining. Jesuit continued to fight back, and closed the gap to 18-15 before time expired. For Bishop Moore, Joey McMahan lead all scorers with 8 goals and 2 assists. Jack Tangeman chipped in 4 goals and added two assists, while Michael Bennett had 2 goals and an assist. Andrew Scarpinto and Ryan Brady each had 4 goals for the Tigers.
