Stockton scored 20 goals in his senior season at JU JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Former JU lacrosse standout midfielder Bobby Stockton was selected by the Jacksonville Bullies in the first round of the North American Lacrosse League’s inaugural college entry draft. Stockton was picked fifth overall, becoming the first draft choice in Bullies history. The five-team NALL will be starting its first-ever season in 2012. After excelling as a senior in Jacksonville this spring, Stockton will be playing close to home as the Bullies will call Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena home. Stockton will also be playing under Bullies head coach Brian Duncan, who was an assistant on the JU staff for the last two seasons. In his only season at JU, Stockton made an immediate impact by posting 20 goals and two assists despite starting only five of 15 games in 2011. The Ponte Vedra, Fla. native was named to the all-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference second-team after a breakout season, finishing just one goal behind TJ Kenary for the team lead en route to recording a JU-high 86 shots. For his efforts, Stockton was named to the South squad in the 67th annual United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association/Lax World Division I/II North-South Senior All-Star Game. He scored twice in the exhibition. The NALL draft featured 30 selections overall, including top overall pick David Earl out of Notre Dame. The second overall pick was Georgetown’s Barney Ehrmann, who opposed Stockton when the Dolphins faced the Hoyas in the season-opening Sunshine Classic at EverBank Field in February.
