LONG LAKE PARK, Oviedo Florida-July 22nd-24th .  Club Of Oviedo Lacrosse (COOLAX), will hold an inaugural Lacrosse Camp in Central Florida.  The camp will feature former Division I player and Division II All-American attack man, Jacob Rooney, as well as former Division I Face-off Midfielder Dylan Davis, and former Division II Long Stick Mid fielder, Cody Prizer.  Coolax will team-up with Body Tech Gym in Oviedo for one of the camp days to evaluate each campers speed and agility.

“We are thrilled to give back to the local talent here in Oviedo. This is a town that loves its sports, and we can’t wait to work with these kids” said Rooney.  Before their college careers, Rooney, Prizer and Davis were central Florida standout lacrosse players.  Rooney, an All American at Timber Creek, Prizer a LSM at state powerhouse Lake Highland Prep, and Davis, a Trinity Prep Alumni who’s face-off prowess earned him a spot on a Division I roster.  The trio, along with volunteers from UCF’s club Lacrosse team is excited to give instruction to local youth.  The camp is for ages 9-13 and will go from 9am to 3pm daily at a cost of $135.  Each camper will be given a t-shirt and a water bottle, however will be expected to bring a light lunch and water all three days. The camps main goal is to spread and strengthen Lacrosse in the Oviedo area in a fun and innovative way.  The Staff at Coolax believes that many young kids these days have so many distractions from technology that they can sometimes forget to go outside and stay active.  The coaching staff trusts they can combat this non-active lifestyle with the right balance of Lacrosse instruction and fun stimulating activities. There will also be an evaluation portion of the camp where Body Tech gym will bring out laser timers to test campers 40 -yard dash times to give campers an idea of their speed and what exactly they need to work on athletically.  The staff, being ex-summer campers themselves, believes that invaluable memories and friendships are made at camps like these and that every child should have the opportunity to attend one. There is an open registration on COOLAX’s website www.OviedoLacrosse.com.
