Columbus Finishes Regular Season With Dominating Win Over Killian

The Columbus Explorers extended their winning streak to 12 games in their final battle of the regular season and they expect their momentum to carry them into the district tournament set to start next week. The Cougars senior day celebration was over quickly as the Explorers jumped out to an insurmountable lead with Senior Nicky Rodrigo scoring a hat trick in the first period and the half ending at 11-1. The defense again played a stellar game holding the Cougars to 6 shots on goal. The Explorers were again led by Nicky Rodrigo (Regis College) with 4 goals and Steven Hernandez adding 3 to the effort. Crupley and Schrack both added goals for the Cougars with Berger adding an assist. There was plenty of scoring spread throughput the Columbus team with Grant Nordlund adding 2 goals and 2 assists, Michael Bulnes and Nicky Quintairos each adding 2 goals, Gabe Perez tallied a goal and 2 assists and goals by Tito Benach, Mike Ferreiro and Sebastian Cancio.
