DURHAM, N.C. – The 10^th-ranked Duke Blue Devils outscored JU 11-3 in the second and third quarters and went on to beat the Dolphins 16-7 here Sunday. Conor Igoe and Donovan Lang got the Dolphins off to a 2-0 lead in the first quarter before Duke (2-1) took a 3-2 lead. With two seconds remaining in the first, JU’s T.J. Kenary scored to tie at 3 despite Duke outshooting JU 11-5 in the quarter. After Kenary’s goal, JU’s Rob Wertz hit with13:06 to play in the second but Duke scored 10 of the next 11 including a stretch of seven consecutive goals to take a 13-5 lead. Kenary took advantage of a man-up situation and stopped the bleeding by scoring with 2:02 to play in the third. Kenary’s two give him five on the year tying him with Cameron Mann and Ari Waffle for the team lead. Mann had one goal against Duke while Waffle was shut out for the first time this season. Freshman Quint Miller scored the other JU (1-2) goal. JU goalie Pete DeLuca faced 49 shots from the Blue Devils and was credited with 16 saves. The Dolphins face Michigan Friday at 3:30 at D.B Milne Field on the JU campus.
