Detroit has last scoring spree in win over JU

From JUDolphins.com JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Scoring spurts dominated the game and Detroit had one more run than Jacksonville to post an 8-7 win in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference lacrosse game Saturday in Detroit. The Titans (6-6, 3-2) propelled by three straight goals by Shayne Adams, scored five consecutive second-half points when to erase a 6-3 JU lead and offset a four-goal effort by the Dolphins’ (5-7, 2-3) TJ Kenary. Detroit rocketed off to a 3-0 lead in the first quarter but the Dolphins starting to fire back with 2:01 to play in the quarter when Kenary took an assist from Dan McNulty. The Dolphins, who held Canisius scoreless for nearly three quarters last week, shut Detroit down in the second period while scoring three goals, one by Cameron Mann, Kenary and Donovan Lange for a 4-3 halftime lead. JU extended the margin to 6-3 in the third as Quint Miller and Kenary scored before Detroit went on its tear and an 8-6 lead.   Kenary ended all scoring with a goal with 8:37 to play in the game. In addition to his goal, Mann had an assist and continued his point-scoring streak of every game JU has played in school history. Attacker Max Gurowski had three assists. JU goal keeper Pete DeLuca recorded seven saves and had four ground balls while Tyler Black had five ground balls. The Dolphins end their regular season Saturday at home against Manhattan.
