District 4 Championship Game Suspended

Written by Lee Roggenburg on . Posted in .
Providence was  leading Fletcher 4-3 with 3:21 remaining in the first half of the District 4 Championship game when the whistle blew for what appeared to a pushing call as a player went out of bounds. What ensued is unclear but it ended with a long conversation between the referee and two coaches culminating with the suspension of the game.  Very odd. We have learned that the FHSAA has requested the game be resumed at 10:00 Saturday morning at Providence High School.  It is not yet clear if both teams will be able to comply with the request. We’ll keep you posted as we learn more about the schedule and outcome of the game.
