Episcopal tops Maclay; Advances to Meet Rival Bolles in 2nd Play In Game

April 26, 2012 — Episcopal defeated Maclay 13-8 in the first round of the State Play-In Games Tuesday, April 25th in Tallahasse in a highly competitive, closely fought game. Episcopal (13-5) and Maclay (12-5) were tied 2-2 at the end of the first quarter, and Episcopal was up 8-6 at the end of the third. Sophomore RJ Raymond turned in a forceful faceoff/midfield performance to solidify the Eagles offense, which turned in 5 consecutive goals in the fourth quarter to break away with the win. Senior Goalie Beau Courtney led the defense with 10 saves. Episcopal advances to meet long-time rival Bolles in the second round of the state Play In Game series on Friday, April 27th at 7:00 p.m. at McCormick Field at the Episcopal School of Jacksonville.
