220 players are registered for the program, which held its first practice Sept. 11 and continues to grow. While most children were riding bicycles with training wheels at age 3, Brian Lemon was already playing lacrosse. Lemon and his four sisters received early training from their late father, Elias “Cy” Lemon, a member of Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame, who made certain his son would go far. In fact, he did. Lemon began a pro lacrosse career in 1989 and spent the next seven years with the Baltimore Thunder, Detroit Turbos and Rochester Knighthawks in the National Lacrosse League (NLL). He retired at the young age of 30 in 1996 and has served as vice president of operations for the NLL for the past six years.
