via press release   MELBOURNE, Fla. (Men’s Lacrosse) – With one game to go in the 2016 regular season, Florida Tech is in a must-win situation with the Lynn Fighting Knights coming to town for the Panthers’ Senior Day Game on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET a Florida Tech Panther Stadium. FIT enters with a record of 6-6 while Lynn is 8-5 overall. Both teams, however, are 1-3 against league opponents this season. With that in mind, Saturday’s contest has major implications on the Sunshine State Conference Tournament next weekend, Apr. 29 – May 1. For whichever team loses, its season will be over, while the other has a chance to continue based on the result of the Florida Southern versus Saint Leo game, also on Saturday. If FIT wins and FSC wins, then the Panthers garner the No. 4 seed in the tournament. If FIT wins and SLU wins, then there will be a three-way tie between Florida Tech, Florida Southern and Saint Leo. Since all three teams would then have identical 2-3 records, the determination for who becomes the final two seeds at the championships will go down to a coin flip. Florida Tech is coming off a rough loss at Rollins last Saturday in Winter Park, Florida. The Panthers led 9-8 with 6:10 to go in the fourth, however they allowed the Tars to score the last three goals of the game, including twice in the final minute to steal an 11-9 victory. Tyler Covey paced FIT with two goals and two assists while Cody Martin recorded his second hat trick of the year. Addison Abramson collected a team-high four ground balls to go along with a caused turnover. Christian Koch finished with a season-high 15 saves in the loss. Lynn lost a nail-biter to Florida Southern on Saturday, falling to the Mocs 11-10 in double overtime. Austin Jerhoff paced the Fighting Knights with five points on three goals and two assists. Anthony Rainone added two goals and an assist while Tyler Janvrin dished out two assists. Pat Brothers took the loss in goal despite making 16 saves on 27 shots.  Christopher Lasprogata won 13-of-15 faceoffs against the Mocs. Jerhoff leads LU with 45 points on a team-high 30 goals and 15 assists. Mikey Urso has 42 points on 27 goals and 15 assists while Rainone is third on the team with 26 goals and 15 assists. Lasprogata is the Fighting Knights top specialist on the draws, winning 127-of-188 (.676) faceoffs to go along with a team-best 72 ground balls. Brothers has started 12 games in goal this season and boasts a record of 7-5 with 143 saves and a goals against average of 9.49. Florida Tech won the only meeting between the teams, defeating the Fighting Knights 11-8 on Apr. 3, 2015 in Boca Raton, Florida. FIT will be honoring seven Panthers during the Senior Day festivities on Saturday, some of which were members of head coach Ryan McAleavey’s second signing class. The ceremony is set to take place on the field prior to the opening faceoff.   Links to live coverage for Saturday’s game can be accessed at www.FloridaTechSports.com/live<http://www.FloridaTechSports.com/live>.   2016 Schedule: http://www.floridatechsports.com/mlacrosse/schedule/ 2016 Roster: http://www.floridatechsports.com/mlacrosse/roster/   Daniel Supraner Assistant Director of Athletic Communications Florida Tech Athletics 150 W.
