via press release   MELBOURNE, Fla. (Women’s Lacrosse) – Florida Tech head women’s lacrosse coach Corinne Desrosiers<http://floridatechsports.com/coaches.aspx?rc=141> has announced Taylor Marshall<http://floridatechsports.com/coaches.aspx?rc=158>, a former Division I women’s player, as the new assistant coach for the Panthers’ third-year program. “We are very excited to have such a young, passionate graduate like Taylor join our coaching staff,” stated Desrosiers. “With her defensive experience, she will be an immediate impact for our athletes who man the back-end of the field. She studied pre-medical biology while playing at the University of Detroit Mercy, so her academic responsibilities will really align with the curriculum and course load here at Florida Tech. Her references hailed her as one of the hardest workers they have ever met, and was the epitome of a good teammate during her Division I career. Coach Taylor will be joining our family just in time for fall ball, which is good news – there’s already a stack of work waiting for her on her desk!” Marshall was a four-year member of the UDM women’s lacrosse team from 2011-15. During her career, the Titans reached three consecutive Atlantic Sun Conference Championship Games (2013-15). She racked up a total of 39 groundballs, 24 caused turnovers and 15 draw controls in the four years, while picking up First Team All-ASC and All-ASC Tournament Team honors as a sophomore and senior, respectively. “I’m really excited to start my collegiate coaching career at Florida Tech,” said Marshall. “FIT is a great university and I’m beyond grateful for the opportunity that Coach Desrosiers and Bill Jurgens have provided to me. Coach Desrosiers has a wealth of knowledge and has really done great things with this young program. So I’m looking forward to learning from her, while helping build the team into an exceptional program. I know I have a lot of knowledge to bring from a player’s perspective, as well as from some of the coaching that I’ve done. I’m really looking forward to bringing my energy and passion to the team this season.” Marshall most recently served as varsity assistant coach at Mount Notre Dame High School in Reading, Ohio. In charge of running the defense, Marshall helped Mount Notre Dame finish 10-7 overall this past season, including a 4-1 mark in conference play to take second place in the GGCL. She coached four All-District players and improved her goalies’ saves per game average from 5.29 in 2015 to 7.71 in 2016. In addition to her high school coaching experience, Marshall served as the assistant coach for the Cincinnati Royals’ Girl’s Lacrosse Travel Program’s 2017-18 HS Elite Team and 2020 Elite Team. A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Marshall graduated Cum Laude from UDM in May 2015 with a major in biology and a minor in business. She was named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll all four years while receiving Dean’s List recognition in five of her eight semesters at the school.
